POSITION SUMMARY

Pay range: $80,579.20 - $116,854.40

Relocation assistance: up to $15,000

 

Provides professional HR consulting support to designated business units to align people strategy with organizational goals. Designs and implements comprehensive solutions that address workforce challenges, drive results, and facilitate talent development and engagement, and foster positive employee experiences. Works in a professional and collaborative manner with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders; serves as an ambassador and champion of Hillsboro Medical Center (HMC)’s mission and values.

 

Delivers effective and efficient human resources consulting and support. Representative duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Partners with leadership to gain insights into the organization’s culture, strategy, and challenges; applies HR expertise to provide both strategic and tactical support to leaders on a variety of HR and business-related issues.
  • Serves as a liaison and facilitator; works collaboratively with HR colleagues, functional experts, and other stakeholders to identify, develop, and implement solutions. Provides business partner perspective and assistance in the development of job descriptions, wage reviews, recruitment and onboarding plans, orientation. Assists with separation of employment and off-boarding activities.
  • Earns respect as a trusted advisor; leverages HR expertise to provide guidance and support that helps leaders meet talent management goals, compliance/regulatory requirements, and business objectives.

Designs and implements strategies to address workforce challenges. Representative duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists managers with organizational design and workforce planning activities to ensure they have the right people with the right skills as needed to meet operational needs.
  • Fosters effective employee and labor relations with internal and external stakeholders. Provides guidance to leaders, teams, and individual employees. Facilitates objective, fact-based discussions and practical, equitable resolution of issues.

Supports talent management and development. Representative duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists leaders with the ongoing management and development of individuals and teams. Ensures leaders are equipped to prepare and deliver effective coaching, performance reviews, corrective action, improvement plans, and/or development roadmaps. Conducts talent assessments and assists with succession planning for assigned business groups.
  • Evaluates data to identify training and development needs and develop action plans. Provides coaching, develops and delivers training, facilitates deployment of internal/external resources.

Serves as a steward of HMC culture and a champion for employee engagement. Representative duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Constantly monitors employee satisfaction and engagement. Collects feedback and analyzes data from a variety of sources to identify issues. Provides recommendations and support to address opportunities.
  • Works collaboratively with the HR team and other stakeholders to improve and enhance employee experiences at all points across the HMC employment lifecycle.

Actively participates in engagement functions to role-model, build and foster employee engagement. Attends to compliance and risk management. Representative duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of HMC policies and procedures, labor/employment laws, and regulatory requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees. Educates leaders and provides guidance to ensure compliance.
  • Facilitates resolution of complex confidential employee/labor relations matters and investigations. Conducts research, performs and/or supports interviews/investigations, appropriately documents findings, and provides accurate and thorough briefings.
  • Originates and maintains accurate files and records; creates and maintains recordkeeping systems for handling important institutional data and records. Performs other related duties and special projects, as assigned.
  • Uses independent judgment to manage and prioritize work and complete projects, providing updates or reports to HR Managers and other stakeholder(s) as needed to inform and/or facilitate effective outcomes.
  • Independently researches, collects data, and prepares professional presentations, recommendations, and reports.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education & Experience:

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination or education and experience.
  • Five (5) years of recent human resources experience, which includes broad generalist experience in the development and delivery of comprehensive human resources services
  • Two (2) years of employee/labor relations experience

Preferred:

  • Healthcare HR experience
  • Additional specialized training and/or education in human resources. 

Licenses & Certifications

 

Preferred:

  • Professional HR Certification - such as Professional in Human Resources (PHR/SPHR) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP/-SCP)

  • Contemporary human resources program management principles, practices, methods, and procedures
