Pay range: $111,217.60 - $180,710.40

Position Summary – |
The Director, Clinics is responsible for developing outpatient clinical programs and ensuring quality care and continuity for patients and families. Responsible for guiding/overseeing business and clinical operations of multi-disciplinary and complex practices. The clinic directors focus on driving systemic operational changes that support the quintuple aim in health care. Works with senior leadership to align strategy and business requirements; provides leadership and guidance in ongoing program development. |
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – |
Performed majority of the time -- |
· Oversees business operations of individual clinics, initiates changes, and resolves issues in a fiscally sound way. · Directs and facilitates the resolution of management, clinical, and policy issues within financial & regulatory limits. · Develop and adjust clinic workflows; recruit and train staff; build team morale; maintain technical expertise in policy and regulatory matters; manage large budgets with lean staff levels; work in union environments. · Ensures operational efficiency and volume growth through the management of interdisciplinary teams. · Manages clinic resources in conjunction with volume; optimizes access & experience for patients. · Coordinate complex referral processes to maximize access; work across clinical and administrative departments within HMC and across the health system for timely referral management. · Manage staff and all associated HR-related work (e.g. union grievances, patient complaints, disciplinary actions, recognitions). · Support VP of ambulatory in executing strategic initiatives and aligning annual work plans with enterprise strategic plans. · Work with multiple ELT members to align growth and policy initiatives; provide critical input to the development of business initiatives and inform strategic direction. · Participate as members of HMC’s leadership council. · Manages complex stakeholder relationships and facilitates collaboration between staff and physicians within and across clinics and all relevant hospital departments. · Continually develop, build, and maintain relationships with clinicians across the ambulatory enterprise to ensure a positive patient experience and clinician well-being. |
Performed occasionally but critical to successful performance of the job: |
· Coordinate work with OHSU Health System peers at an individual level and committee level for health system alignment. · Member of various committees and councils at the organization and health system level. |
Decision making and budget responsibilities: |
· Decisions influencing the operations of the clinics under the scope. · Budget planning for the clinics under the scope. |
Assigned direct reports: |
· Practice Manager, Medical Assistant, Clinic Supervisor, Clinic RNs, other clinic staff as assigned. |
Education: | Required | · Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution in Business or Healthcare Management or related field. |
Preferred | · Master’s degree – in relevant field. | |
Experience: | Required | · Minimum of six (6) years of progressive operations management experience in Healthcare setting. · Minimum two (2) years managing personnel. · Experience in medical clinic supervision or management and previous experience in a primary or ambulatory healthcare setting. |
