Pay range: $21.99/hr to $30.58
Position Summary – |
The Clinical Assistant performs basic clerical and clinical tasks to support the Medical Assistant such as chart review and prep and performing and recording vital signs on patients in the exam room. Train alongside the Medical Assistant to develop skills and competencies to expand tasks performed. Support the Medical Providers and Care Teams to provide high quality patient care. |
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – |
Performed majority of the time: |
· Review of charts, Epic work queues, Epic in basket messaging, emails, answer phones. · Checks in patients to include gathering patient information, entering into computer, handles insurance information and collects co-pays appropriately. · Schedules patient appointments using EMR and within provider guidelines. · Checks out patients to include addressing any additional patient concerns or needs. · Obtains prior medical records and studies if appropriate. · Responds to correspondence as appropriate, by telephone and/or in writing. · Keeps exam rooms orderly and clean between patients. · Room patients, collect and document vital signs, support medical assistant in the visit. · Promotes accident prevention and reports potential hazards to maintain a safe environment. · Train for clinical competency for expansion of tasks performed. |

· Attends monthly staff meeting. · Reads insurance updates. · Performs special projects and other related duties, as assigned. |
