Pay range: $39.51/hr - $57.31/hr plus $3.20/hr night shift differential
| Position Summary | 
| The Respiratory Therapist participates in planning, delivering, controlling and evaluating safe and effective diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory therapy services. | 
| KEY RESPONSIBILITIES | 
| Performed majority of the time: | 
| · Independently performs respiratory diagnostic testing, including stress treadmill testing and EKG’s. · Performs respiratory treatments as listed on the orientation checklist according to departmental procedures. · Administers respiratory medication safely following hospital and departmental policies. · Documents assessments, treatments and medications accurately utilizing hospital and departmental formats. · As a member of the Code Blue team, provides cardiopulmonary resuscitation. · Maintains emergency resuscitation equipment and other equipment, in proper working condition. · Participates in establishing a system to maintain a clean, well-organized, safe environment; reports potential safety hazards. · Assists in maintaining adequate respiratory therapy supplies in the department and in-patient care areas. · Participates in evaluation of new procedures and equipment. · Demonstrates confidentiality according to PHI regarding patient and co-worker information · Participates with physicians, therapists and other members of the health team in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of care plans for respiratory patients. · Organizes, delivers, and evaluates respiratory care based on physician’s orders and individual needs of the patient. · Instructs patients and caregivers about respiratory treatments and issues. · Participates in a comprehensive inter-shift report of all patients receiving respiratory services and other reportable information. · Executes round to cardiopulmonary patients and assesses status. · Reports discrepancies in care through proper mechanism. · Assists in maintaining quality assurance monitors as communicated with Department Manager. · Participates in retrospective analysis of all aspects of respiratory care in accordance with JCAHO standards. · Participates in all required meetings. · Reports unexpected changes in patient condition. |

| Education: | Required | · A copy of your highest science-related academic diploma or transcript required upon hire. | 
| Preferred | · Associate Degree in Respiratory Care from and accredited program. | |
| Experience: | Required | · N/A | 
| Preferred | · Minimum of six (6) months experience in critical respiratory care. | |
| Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: | Required | · Licensed Respiratory Therapist in accordance with the State of Oregon. · Registered with The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). · American Heart Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90-days of hire. · ACLS or required within six (6) months of hire. · PALS or required within six (6) months of hire. · Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) or required within six (6) months of hire. |
