Pay Range: $91,832.00/yr. to $134,056.00/yr.
Position Summary – |
The Occupational Therapist functions as a member of the patient care team by providing occupational therapy services and is accountable for assessment, treatment, and education of patients with the appropriate documentation of such care. Also responsible for supervising the patient care activities of their assistant, aide, students and to assist with other educational and research activities conducted by the department or hospital. |
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – |
Performed majority of the time: |
· Documents patient evaluation, treatment, progress, and discharge in a complete and timely manner, using EMR. · Maintains patient charts in a comprehensive and legal manner with regard to local, state, and federal laws and hospital policy. · Bills in congruence with documented patient treatment and assists in tracking of individual insurance requirements in accordance with proper billing practices. · Supervises OT assistant, aide, athletic trainer and / or student in regards to patient care activities. · Achieves clinics established productivity standards for patient care. · Provides occupational therapy to, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients based on principles of growth and development and life stages. · Actively participates in performance reviews · Actively participate in monthly meetings |

· Refers to or communicates with primary care provider regarding concerns about patients as needed. |
Decision making and budget responsibilities: |
· Impact limited to the employee and the wellbeing of the patient. · No budget responsibilities. |
Education: | Required | · Current unencumbered occupational therapy license in the state of Oregon. |

Preferred | · At least one (1) year of experience in an outpatient setting. · At least one (1) year of experience in hand therapy including splinting. | |
Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: | Required | · Current unencumbered occupational therapy license in the state of Oregon. · American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS preferred upon hire or required within first 90 days. |
Preferred | · CHT: Certified Hand Therapist. | |

This includes the ability to fabricate splints as indicated based on diagnosis. · Prioritizes patient care appropriately, coordinating duties and clinic resources in an effective manner. · Promotes accident prevention and reports potential hazards to maintain a safe environment. · Uses protective equipment, infection control, and disposal of hazardous waste and sharps to assure personal safety. · Demonstrates clinical competency through preparation of patient plans of care/treatment plans. · Demonstrates ability to effectively treat patients through direct access. |
