Pay Range:$49.80/hr. to $73.22/hr
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs those duties related to the administration of radioactive materials, maintaining high professional standards at all times with attention to customer service, patient care and the production of high quality exams. |
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES |
Performed majority of the time: |
· Prepares and administers radio-pharmaceuticals under the direction of a Nuclear Medicine Physician. · Operates several types of computers for the purposes of imaging, computer analysis of patient studies, order entry, billing, data entry and word-processing. · Operates radiation detection equipment with safety. · Maintains a safe, clean and orderly work area; reports potential safety hazards. · Maintains an accurate log of all patients and procedures. · Provides care appropriate to the age of patients served adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients based on principles of growth and development and life stages. · Performs Nuclear Medicine studies according to departmental procedures, expands or modifies procedures as needed to comply with the medical director’s wishes. · Monitors images produced during Nuclear Medicine studies to insure that they are as clear and accurate as possible; makes adjustments as necessary. · Charges exams correctly on the order communication system. · Performs computer analysis of patient studies. · Maintains an accurate log of all patients and procedures. · Performs assigned quality control procedures by following written quality control procedures and accurately logging the results. |
Performed occasionally but critical to successful performance of the job: |
· Answering the phone and scheduling. · Participates in scheduled staff/department meetings. · Participates in in-service programs and continuing education. |

Education: | Required | · Highest academic diploma or transcript. |

Preferred | · Completion of a certified school of Nuclear Medicine Technology. |

Experience: | Required | · Experience in a wide variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. · Experience with computerized scanning equipment and study analysis. |

Preferred | · Two (2) years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine. |

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: | Required | · State of Oregon Nuclear Medicine License. · Certificate of Nuclear Medicine Technology from the A.R.R.T. or N.M.T.C.B. · Certification for Nuclear Medicine required within 90 days of hire. · Current Healthcare Provider BLS. |
