Responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality care to patients in accordance with individual needs, physician orders and standards of care, as represented through patient care policies. Must be able and willing to handle all front and back tasks within the clinic according to established procedures and protocols, as to provide a seamless experience for the patient. Duties could include (but are not limited to): greeting and checking in patients, scheduling appointments, rooming patients, assisting doctors, triaging acute patient concerns, working within the EMR system, running lab controls, and departing patients.
a) Certification: Required - Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) or certification as a Registered Medical Assist (RMA) by American Medical Technologies or certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by the National Healthcare Association or certification as a Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by National Center for Competency Testing.
b) License: Current Healthcare provider BLS certification or within 90 days of hire.
c) Demonstrates keyboarding skills. Previous experience using an EMR preferred.
d) Bilingual: Spanish and English preferred.
e) Demonstrates leadership skills and effective conflict resolution skills.
f) Demonstrates good customer service skills.
g) Functions well as part of a team.
h) Demonstrates skills in caring for population served.
i) Uses a problem solving process to make decisions related to patient care.
j) Responds appropriately in emergency situations.
k) Demonstrates effective organizational skills.
l) Demonstrates effective written communication skills with proper grammar and spelling abilities.
m) Manages multiple tasks, priorities, deadlines and interruptions successfully.
n) Demonstrates proper appearance and personal conduct for the employee's particular job.
o) Uses effective communication skills taking into consideration body language, filters, listening, paraphrasing and questions with customers of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
