Codes, abstracts, and submits for billing all outpatient records/reports. Coordinates re-bill requests, assists internal and external customers with coding questions and concerns. Keeps current and maintains all outpatient coding resources. Educates physician offices regarding ancillary coding compliance, fraud and abuse. Plays a key role in delivering the advanced beneficiary notice to our customers, making calls to physicians and their offices to ensure complete and clear laboratory orders.
a) Education: Graduate of an approved program of health information management or commensurate work experience with license as below.
b) License: RHIT or CCS required through the American Health Information Management Association. New graduates of an approved Health Information Management program must obtain RHIT or CCS certification within 6 months from date of hire.
c) Demonstrates ability to access and enter data into personal computer.
d) Excellent customer service skills.
e) Demonstrates professional level of written and verbal communication skills.
f) Ability to multitask and work with frequent interruptions.
g) Presents a positive professional image.
