  • Summary of Duties

    The Quality Improvement (QI) Coordinator promotes and communicates awareness of quality initiatives while building relationships with providers and appropriate Tuality Health Alliance office staff. He/she reviews, validates and analyzes data and reports that pertain to QI prior to internal or external distribution. QI Coordinator works closely with other THA staff and reports quality improvement efforts to the THA Quality Management Committee.

    Hiring Competencies

    A.    Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare-related field preferred

    B.    Certification: Certified Professional Healthcare Quality credentials preferred or within 2 years of employment

    C.    License: None required

    D.    Minimum three years of medical office or health insurance experience

    E.    Demonstrates experience and knowledge of the Oregon Health Authority, Health Share of Oregon (HSO), National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), as well as medical staff, governing board, and other regulatory agency standards

    F.    Demonstrates knowledge of community health and social service resources

    G.    Uses PC software, including Microsoft Office, Cerner, MIDAS, Outlook, ProvLink, Plexis, etc.

    H.    Excellent customer service skills.

    I.     Presents a good first and lasting impression by professional appearance and interpersonal skills

    J.    Advanced communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of internal and external customers

    K.    Proven ability to communicate effectively with healthcare providers and medical office representatives

    L.    Proven creativity, flexibility, and the ability to work under stress/multiple demands

    M.   Self-directed and motivated to work with minimal supervision

    N.   Experience working in highly confidential settings

    O.   Ability to develop solutions for various problems through appropriate problem-solving skills

    P.   Ability to implement ideas and required programs

    Q.   Ability to follow through on projects with attention to detail

    R.   Composes written material from an idea or philosophy

    S.   Uses PC skills in communicating and analyzing data

    T.    Bilingual skills a plus
