  • Summary of Duties

    The primary duties of the Rehabilitation Services Receptionist include providing a variety of clerical support functions including greeting patients, directing telephone calls and messages as appropriate, filing and retrieving information, scheduling patients, and assisting staff and guests as required by exhibiting excellent customer service.

    Hiring Competencies

    a.    Education:  High school diploma with office procedure classes, Business College or equivalent experience preferred.

    b.    Demonstrates proper appearance and personal conduct for the employee's particular job.

    c.    Uses effective communication skills taking into consideration body language, culture, filters, listening, paraphrasing, with customers of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

    d.    Knowledge of Spanish language helpful as a second language.

    e.    Demonstrates effective telephone skills, written and verbal communication skills.

    f.     Types with accuracy at least 45wpm.

    g.    Personal computer experience using Word. Preferred experience using Excel.

    h.    Demonstrates ability to develop skills in the use of computerized hospital information/ordering system - “order communications.”

    i.     Demonstrates organization skills.

    j.     Demonstrates experience in working with multiple priorities with many interruptions.

    k.    Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.

    l.     Presents a personal appearance that makes a good first impression.

    m.   Bilingual skills a plus.
