  • Summary of Duties

    The Vice President of Human Resources provides leadership for the strategic and functional direction of the human resources department, and serves on the Executive Team as a critical thought partner for the members of the Executive Team. This position provides strategic and innovative advice for the senior leaders to support short and long-term business objectives and to position the organization as the employer of choice. Helps implement and drives policies and practices to ensure Tuality human resources team is supporting the Tuality Healthcare’s mission and employees. Supports the organizational strategy while retaining the top talent. This includes ensuring the development of staff and managers throughout Tuality Healthcare by creating opportunities for professional growth and succession planning. Ensures all staff are maintaining a customer focus as well as solutions-oriented approach.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

     

    Execute on the human resources and employment strategy at Tuality Healthcare.

    • Directs the overall operation of the Human Resources department which includes employment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and labor relations
    • Acts as the Human Resource Liaison to the organization in all areas of employee relations.  Oversees Employee Health and Workers Compensation
    • Accountability for providing leadership, direction, and administration of day-to-day Human Resources operations. This position provides guidance to leaders and the entire management team and administrative direction to the facility. 

    Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal personnel and human resources policies and procedures.

    • Overseeing the human resources team while providing counsel regarding established laws, policies, practices, and services.
    • Establishes and monitors the salary structure and benefits for the employees of the hospital, including group health insurance, retirement benefits, paid leave, sick leave and any other perks.
    • Maintains records of employees, with regard to conduct, productivity, efficiency, punctuality and absenteeism, to evaluate their eligibility for future benefits

    Manage employee personnel and human resources procedures.

    • Ability to negotiate and manage collective bargaining agreements
    • Examines and re-engineers operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures; ability to interpret and advise on the application of employment laws and regulatory requirements
    • Sets the direction for the organization on job performance reviews, aligning the responsibilities and expectations of the job description with the goals, values and mission of the organization
    • Assists the organization to set the culture of a customer service organization, represent the values of the organization including customer service skills and a patient centric focus

    Hiring Competencies

    Education:

    Required  

    • Bachelor’s degree

    Preferred

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources Management Master’s Degree or JD

     

    Experience:

    Required 

    • Minimum 10 years related experience, with minimum of 3 years in HR management
    • Minimum 5 years union labor experience

    Preferred

    • Experience in the healthcare industry, with community hospital experience being a plus.

     

    Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:

    Preferred

    • PHR or SPHR certification
