Talent Acquisition Partner
Provides leadership for the Medical Office Services Division to achieve division and organization wide goals related to the delivery of the highest quality of health care services in our service area. Skill set and experience in providing infrastructure necessary for successful physician practice operation. Responsible for maintaining The Joint Commission accreditation and all other regulatory agency compliance within the Medical Office Services Division. Models and fosters a culture of respect and accountability for all staff while emphasizing wise management of human, fiscal, and technological resources. Interacts with physician employees and community physicians in a cooperative manner keeping in mind the goals of the organization and strategic initiatives for physician alignment. Develops and grows Practice Managers as leaders and problem solvers within each clinic site.
Participates in strategic initiatives involving the acquisition of technology for the division, facility/asset management, planning, and strategic initiatives for healthcare development. Works collaboratively with leadership from Tuality and partner groups leadership on the development and implementation of an ambulatory system of care. Demonstrates high level knowledge of the functionality of the practice management information systems, including billing systems, electronic health record systems, and time management systems. Participates in the development of the division budget and monitors division performance compared to the budget. Reviews and codes accounts payable invoices for the division assuring timely and accurate payments to vendors. Develops and maintains a system of ambulatory metrics (operational, quality and financial) throughout all clinics. Establishes and promotes lean and other problem solving techniques throughout all ambulatory practices.
Reports to the Vice President of Provider and Payer Network Services and work in partnership with Associate Medical Directors to align clinic operations to achieve quality targets. Collaborates with the Vice President of Provider and Payer Network Services and Associate Medical Directors in the development of and effective use of practice dashboards. Supports the physician billing office, which reports to OHSU, by monitoring and managing the charge capture and charge reconciliation process in the clinics.
Participates in physician practice governance activities including educating physicians and staff about the financial performance of the medical group, regulatory compliance and issues of clinical quality and outcomes. Actively participates in budget preparation activities and oversees detailed monthly financial reporting utilizing accrual accounting methods. Monitors the performance of the Physicians Billing Office and has general operations oversight responsibilities for a network of primary care clinics (Family Medicine, Ob/Gyn, Internal Medicine/Pediatrics and Urgent Care) as well as specialty clinics ( Endocrinology, General surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Physical Therapy, Sleep Clinic, Sleep Lab) and sub-specialty clinics (Urology and Pulmonary) located at multiple locations on the main hospital campus and at remote locations in our service area..
a)Education: Minimum of Bachelors degree required. MBA or advanced management degree related to position highly preferred.
b)Minimum five years of multi-clinic site leadership experience.
c)Experience in a multispecialty practice management setting. Demonstrated track record working successfully with Physicians and hospital leadership.
d)Two to five years experience with computerized practice management system, including scheduling and billing modules, EPIC preferred.
e)Knowledge of basic functions of Electronic Medical Records systems. Experience with Cerner and/or EPIC systems preferred.
f)Knowledge and experience with Kronos timekeeper system or other electronic timekeeping system.
g)Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 CM, and HCPCS coding systems, RBRVS methodology, and medical terminology.
h)Knowledge of lean management principles including: daily management systems, standard work and problem solving skills.
i)Uses PC with MS Office applications to communicate and analyze data.
j)Two years GL bookkeeping experience, use of computerized bookkeeping software preferred.
k)Strong project management skills, with ability to prioritize based on changing needs of the organization.
l)Knowledge of accounts payable coding methodology.
m)Familiarity with managed care insurance plans.
n)Knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare billing and compliance rules.
o)Familiarity with The Joint Commission and hospital compliance issues.
p)Excellent customer service skills, uses effective communication skills.
q)Professional personal appearance makes a good first impression.
