  • Summary of Duties

    The anticoagulation Clinic Technician will provide clerical and office support that requires a positive attitude, administrative skills and knowledge of anticoagulation outpatient clinic operations.  Responsibilities include performing patient appointment scheduling for the anticoagulation clinic, greeting and registering patients, triaging phone calls, performing clerical duties, and assisting with ACC workflow.

    Hiring Competencies

    1. Education:  High school diploma or equivalent
    2. Licensure/Certification:  None required
    3. A minimum of one year of healthcare experience or equivalent education in at least one of the following areas preferred:
    4. Admitting, Medical records, health information, applicable clerical support experience and familiarity with medical terminology
    5. Must have strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills. 
    6. Ability to efficiently compose routine correspondence and reports
    7. Accurately edits documents for grammar, correct punctuation, etc.
    8. Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures
    9. Maintains confidentiality with information accessed
    10. Provides excellent customer service and communicates well with patients
    11. Demonstrates effective problem solving abilities, decision making skills and attention to detail.
    12. Works efficiently with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment within state guidelines.
    13. Advanced skill level in Microsoft Word and Excel, Cerner, Outlook, and office equipment
    14. Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred)
    15. Reads, writes and speaks English clearly
    16. Bilingual skills a plus.
