  • Summary of Duties

    The role of Client Services Representative encompasses many areas of the laboratory.  Client Services Representatives provide support to internal and external clients, access information in computer, register patients, order tests and perform charting functions.  They play a key role in the pre-analytic and post-analytic process of specimen testing.

    Hiring Competencies

    a)      Education:  High school diploma or equivalent. 

    b)      License:  None required.

    c)      Certification: Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy or C.N.A certification preferred.

    d)      Excellent customer service skills.

    e)      Must be able to speak, read and write conversational English.  Spanish helpful.

    f)       Experience in medical environment preferred.  Word processing experience helpful.

    g)      Typing and previous computer use required.  Able to access and enter data into computer.

    h)      Possesses knowledge and skills through experience and/or training to be able to provide care appropriate to the

               age of patients served in this job.

    i)       Ability to be thorough and accurate in paperwork.

    j)       Uses effective communication skills.

    k)      Demonstrates professional appearance, hygiene and personal conduct for the employee’s particular job.

    l)       Medical Terminology preferred.

    m)     Flexible, able to work to meet the needs of the department.

    o)       Bilingual skills a plus.
