  • Summary of Duties

    Assesses customer's needs for rental or sale of home medical equipment and supplies.  Obtains and processes all related paperwork pertaining to sales and rentals of equipment.

    a)      Education:  High school diploma or GED preferred, plus two years of business or clerical courses or equivalent in experience required.

    b)      License:  Board Orthotic Certification not required, but is a plus.

    c)      Knowledge of durable medical equipment and supplies and its applications with two years of hands-on experience preferred.

    d)      Knowledge of insurances, especially Medicare required.

    e)      Medical terminology required.

    f)       Experience with rehab equipment evaluations preferred.

    g)      Excellent customer service skills required.

    h)      Uses effective communication skills taking into consideration body language, filters, listening, paraphrasing and questions with customers of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

    i)       Problem solving, assessment, evaluation and planning skills required.

    j)       Provides care appropriate to the age of clients served on the job.

    k)      Ability to multi task and effectively deal with multiple interruptions.

    l)       Works in a variety of settings; must demonstrate ability to work with diverse cultures.

    m)     Professional appearance makes a good first impression.
