  • Summary of Duties

    Manages the Employee Health program  in providing the following services: occupational health screenings for new employees and volunteers,  immunizations, monthly review for immunization updates and disseminating of information to appropriate staff, respiratory protection program manager which includes Fit testing and PAPR training,  evaluation and triage of walk-in injuries or infectious disease concerns, plan  and direct annual 2 week flu campaign, manages ergonomic program and provides ergonomic assessments, various tracking responsibilities for program reporting (example: Immunizations, flu, ergonomics, TB, N-95 fit testing),  industrial hygiene reviews such as air quality investigation, on-site safety evaluations and recommendations,  responsible for managing employee medical records while maintaining confidentiality/security, provision of medical records at employee request, work with the Medical Staff office in TB clearance for physician credentialing, provide training at staff meetings on various requested topics, initiate employee assessment and referral for Fitness for Duty exams, medical information resource for HR, General Hospital Orientation presenter for New Hires, resource for Work Comp Coordinator with ability to manage workers comp claims as needed for absences or vacations,  competent in the creation of job descriptions for modified job offer letters with communication to employees and managers, able to be creative in locating modified work for injured workers, work with Infection Prevention in managing BBP exposures and follow up, knowledgeable of OSHA regulations as they apply to EHS processes,  participate in occupational / employee health list serve, and participate in professional organization.  Participates in Safety Committees as needed and assists managers in evaluating employee’s behavior for a drug screen for cause.

    Hiring Competencies

    a)     License: Registered Nurse with Oregon State Board of Nursing required. 

    b)     Education: A copy of your highest academic diploma or transcript required upon hire.

    c)     Two years experience in occupational/employee health setting preferred.

    d)     Demonstrates experience working in highly confidential settings and able to work independently.

    e)     Demonstrates knowledge of workers’ compensation system

    f)      Possesses two years or more working in clinical setting

    g)     Demonstrates leadership abilities.

    h)     Demonstrates both written and verbal communication skills, to include writing policies and procedures. 

    i)      Demonstrates ability to make presentations to both small and large groups at all levels of an organization.

    j)      Presents a good professional image.

    j)      Demonstrates experience in working with multiple priorities, deadlines and under pressure with many interruptions. 

    k)     Experience in Internet and library research skills and use of personal computer programs.

    l)      Bilingual skills a plus
