    Coordinates the activities of the Medical Staff.  Provides support services to the Medical Staff Officers.  Support Medical Staff meetings. Disseminates committee referrals to ensure communication between committees.  Assists with  physician education programs.  Coordinates credentialing for Tuality Healthcare (THC) and Tuality Health Alliance (THA).  Provides accounting duties for the Medical Staff financial functions. Maintains the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations. Coordinates social functions for the Medical Staff.

    Hiring Competencies

    a)    Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree in Medical Staff Management Services preferred.

    b)    Certification: Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred or willingness to sit for the exam when eligibility requirements are met.  Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) preferred, or similar credentials as recognized by the National Association of Medical Staff Services.

    c)    Uses effective communication skills taking into consideration body language, filters, listening, paraphrasing, and questions with customers of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

    d)    Excellent customer service skills.

    e)    Types 70 WPM and possesses transcription skills and medical terminology knowledge, as well as accurate spelling and grammar skills.

    f)     Demonstrates ability to prioritize work assignments and organize workload.

    g)    Demonstrates ability to problem solve and make decisions independently.

    h)    Demonstrates experience and knowledge of The Joint Commission (TJC), the National Council for Quality Assurance, (NCQA), and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) medical staff, governing board, and other regulatory agency standards.

    i)     Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills.

    j)     Presents a good first impression through personal appearance.

    k)    Bilingual skills a plus.
