  • Summary of Duties

    Works in the cardio-endovascular catheterization laboratory performing a number of special duties, including but not limited to, monitoring and scrubbing during all types of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.  Works with and provides assistance to all physicians, radiologic technologists, cardiovascular technologists, and nurses, to ensure efficiency as well as maintain a customer friendly environment in the laboratory.

    Hiring Competencies

    a)     Education:  A copy of your highest academic science-related diploma or transcript required upon hire and completion of certified school of cardiovascular technology.

    b)     License:  RCIS required or within 6 months of hire.

    c)     Certification: Current Healthcare Provider BLS required and ACLS required within 6 months of hire date.

    d)     Excellent customer service skills.

    e)     Uses effective written and interpersonal communication skills.

    f)       Behavior and appearance demonstrate a professional image.

    g)     Demonstrates skills in caring for the adult and geriatric patient.

    h)    Ability to efficiently utilize and navigate applicable computer applications.

    i)       Maintain Technical Systems (IVUS, IFR/FFR, IABP, etc. as examples) and act as first line for troubleshooting.

    j)       Willingness to develop understanding of billing and coding procedures for cath lab procedures.

    k)     Adhere to the policy and standards of the department.

    l)      Required roles for this position are:

    1. Scrubbing Proficiency

    2. Monitoring Proficiency

    3. Circulating Proficiency
