The Quality Improvement Coordinator is responsible for development, implementation, evaluation, documentation, and presentation of Performance and Quality Improvement Programs. The Quality Improvement Coordinator also supports the Utilization Management Program, running scheduled Utilization Management reports and presenting Utilization Management findings. Works closely with other THA staff and the THA Quality Management Committee. The QI Coordinator communicates, builds relationships, and promotes awareness of THA’s programs and services to the community through direct contact with community providers and office staff. Meets weekly with internal THA QI team for updates, progress and action plans on QI projects.
a) Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare-related field preferred
b) License: Current licensure as an RN from the Oregon State Board of Nursing required. A copy of your highest academic diploma or transcript required upon hire.
Certification: Certified Professional Healthcare Quality credentials preferred or within 2 years of employment
c) Clinical skills with at least 3 years of experience in a Quality Improvement programs
d) 1-2 year minimum experience in health insurance and knowledge of Medicaid rules and regulations a plus
e) Demonstrates experience and knowledge of the Oregon Health Authority, Health Share of Oregon (HSO), National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), as well as medical staff, governing board, and other regulatory agency standards.
f) Uses PC software, including Microsoft Office, Cerner, MIDAS, Outlook, Plexis, etc.
g) Excellent customer service skills.
h) Presents a good first and lasting impression by professional appearance and interpersonal skills
i) Advanced communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of internal and external customers
j) Proven ability to communicate effectively with healthcare providers and medical office representatives
k) Proven creativity, flexibility, and the ability to work under stress/multiple demands
l) Self-directed and motivated to work with minimal supervision
m) Experience working in highly confidential settings
n) Ability to develop solutions for various problems through appropriate problem-solving skills
o) Ability to implement ideas and required programs
p) Ability to follow through on projects with attention to detail
q) Composes written material from an idea or philosophy
r) Uses PC skills in communicating and analyzing data
s) Bilingual skills a plus
