  • Summary of Duties

    Able to provide preventive maintenance and general maintenance services on durable medical equipment, such as; but not limited to wheelchairs, medical beds, medication refrigerators, and the physical plant. 

     

    Other general maintenance activities includes: replacement of lights/lamps, hanging of shelves and pictures, fire extinguisher inspections, fire sprinkler head inspections, inspection of doors and hardware with minor maintenance of hardware, ordering of supplies, organizing equipment rooms, cleaning of equipment and mechanical rooms, changing air filters, cleaning and or overseeing the work of contractors assigned to clean windows, sidewalks, exterior walls, doors and lights, and the completion of work requests as directed.

     

    Adhere to safety precautions, policies and practices, OSHA and other standards, utilize and understand best practices for use of personal protective equipment. Inspect the workplace on a regular basis for unsafe conditions and take immediate action to report and resolve issues.

     

    Able to use general tools to complete assignments such as but not limited to: hand and power tools. 

    Hiring Competencies

    a)   Education: High School diploma or equivalent

    b)   At least 1 year experience in some type of maintenance.

    c)   Undertakes continuing education and diligently applies his or herself to on the job training.

    d)   Willing to work any shift as assigned.

    e)   Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.

    f)   Personal appearance makes a good first impression.

    g)   Bilingual skills a plus.
