Responsible for providing and overseeing licensed social workers as a provision of the clinical and resource aspects of the social services function at Tuality Healthcare (e.g. Geri-Psych Inpatient, Outpatient, ED). Manages all Psychiatric OT staff, approves all group programming and processes, and builds an engaged therapy team. Ensures that resources are utilized effectively. Assists in the development and implementation of a quality management program to evaluate the services provided. Maintains systems which ensure appropriate utilization of resources and services. Attends unit administrative meetings and ensures that the staff has necessary and updated information. Provides orientation to the new staff and completes annual performance development summaries on each core and per diem team members. Provides on-going personnel management, and may provide licensure supervision when needed.
a) Education: Master’s degree in social work required.
b) License (required): Valid licensure by the state of Oregon for Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
· Minimum five years’ experience providing treatment services as a social worker; two years of which should include individual and group therapy to the adult population.
· Must have prior experience in managing personnel.
· Minimum five years of progressive healthcare or related experience in decision-making roles.
d) CADC or CADC II credential and experience highly preferred.
e) Position may be required to provide clinical supervision for the social work staff, unless another team member is qualified to do so. Applicants can address this with the Program Director during the interview process.
f) Highly Preferred: Experience with service design, programming for group therapy, developing curriculum for staff, outreach education, wellness programs, complementary therapies and diagnostic evaluations.
g) Demonstrates effective communication skills-body language, filters, listening, paraphrasing, and questions.
h) Excellent customer service skills.
i) Presents self professionally in appearance and interpersonal skills.
j) Demonstrates understanding of professional and ethical behaviors.
k) Demonstrates skills in problem solving and productively addresses problem situations encountered.
l) Demonstrates knowledge of resources and services for the geriatric population.
m) Utilizes PC skills to communicate.
n) Must be willing to develop relationships with partner universities and facilitate internship programs for new SW rotations.
o) Bilingual skills a plus.
