Position Summary – |
The Physical Therapist functions as a member of the patient care team by providing physical therapy services, and is accountable for assessment, treatment, and education of patients with the appropriate documentation of such care. The physical therapist is also responsible for supervising the patient care activities of physical therapist assistants, aides, students, athletic trainers, and to assist with other educational and research activities conducted by the department or hospital. |
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – |
Performed majority of the time: |
· Documents patient evaluation, treatment, progress, and discharge in a complete and timely manner, using EMR. · Maintains patient charts in comprehensive and legal manner with regard to local, state, and federal laws, and hospital policy. · Bills in congruence with documented patient treatment, and assists in tracking of individual insurance requirements in accordance with proper billing practices · Supervises PT assistant, aide, athletic trainer, and / or student in regards to patient care activities. · Achieves clinic’s established productivity standards for patient care. · Provides physical therapy to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients based on principles of growth and development and life stages. · Actively participates in performance reviews · Actively participates in team meetings |
Performed occasionally but critical to successful performance of the job: |
· Refers to or communicates with primary care provider and/or referring provider regarding concerns about patients as needed. · Communicates with vendors to help facilitate patient equipment needs · Maintains certifications and licenses required to perform patient care · Participates in continuing education seminars, department in-services, safety training and other educational opportunities within the hospital and community |

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: | Required | · Current unencumbered physical therapy license in the state of Oregon or ability to obtain prior to hire. · American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS preferred upon hire or required within first 90 days. |
