The Surgical Technologist I participates as part of the surgical team in assisting nursing staff in support services necessary for safe and efficient care of patients within various areas of surgical services. This individual assists at the surgical field passing instruments and supplies to other members of the surgical team and maintains the sterile field. Participates in acquiring, preparing and equipping the surgical suites. Ensures the delivery of quality care for patients undergoing surgical procedures in accordance with individual needs, standards of care, and hospital policy. Assists in non-surgical patient intervention under the direct supervision of a physician or RN. May serve as a Core Technician, with responsibility for maintaining sterile technique and providing supplies and instruments as requested. Added job functions may include being responsible for inventory, effective physician relationships, birth certificate processing or other administrative duties.
The CT Technologist works under the direction of a board-certified radiologist and is directly responsible or the optimal completion of all procedures utilizing a computed tomography (CT) scanner. May be assigned to a variety of hospital or clinic locations depending on the needs of the department. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Performed majority of the time -- please start with the responsibilities that are the most time consuming: · Operates equipment producing ionizing radiation under direct supervision of a physician.· Performs quality control functions in CT in association with department quality control program.· Assists physicians as necessary.· Assists in providing care for moderate sedation patients.· Provides care appropriate to the age of patients served pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients based on principles of growth and development and life stages.· Maintains a log of all patients, procedures, complications and path file.· Maintains appropriate supply levels.· Transports patients as necessary.· Assists in patient scheduling. Performed occasionally but critical to successful performance of the job: · Keeps abreast of new techniques through continuing education, as well as attendance at departmental in-service.· Performs additional duties as requested by the staff radiologist or imaging leadership.· Cares for the patient in a safe and compassionate manner while in the CT suite and on hospital property.· Exhibits a high standard of medical ethics and empathy towards patients.· Participates in scheduled staff/department meetings.· Mentors Medical Imaging students during rotations and clinicals. The Admitting Representative is a unique role within the Tuality Healthcare system. The Admitting Representative welcomes the patient into the care delivery setting, providing direction and assistance. Initiates the administrative system which lays the groundwork for the patient’s clinical care as well as the financial documentation during registration by interviewing patients and/or family members, obtaining signatures on legal consents and insurance forms, entering demographic and insurance information according to service provided, patient need, payer requirements and hospital policy. Collects appropriate co-pays or deposits. Supports the practice by providing excellent customer service, demonstrating professional communication on the phone and in face-to-face customer contact, problem solving, and functioning as a team member to other staff. Accepts and stores patient valuables. Ensures customer satisfaction and offers solutions to patient/visitor concerns and demonstrates appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to communicate with diverse populations. May float to multiple inpatient/outpatient service locations and remains competent in all service areas. Familiar with the switchboard and understand how to respond to facility codes.
Responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality care to patients in accordance with individual needs, physician orders and standards of care, as represented through patient care policies. Must be able and willing to handle all front and back tasks within the clinic according to established procedures and protocols, as to provide a seamless experience for the patient. Duties could include (but are not limited to): greeting and checking in patients, scheduling appointments, rooming patients, assisting doctors, triaging acute patient concerns, working within the EMR system, running lab controls, and departing patients.

Teach family and internal medicine residents on an individual basis, in group settings including didactic lectures, workshops, and in seminars on behavioral science topics.Provide residents with skills needed to maintain their commitment to practicing high quality patient-focused care within a high stress work environment. Ensure compliance with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) behavioral science/professional development requirements for family medicine residents. Provide residents with skills needed to work effectively with underserved and multi-ethnic populations. Provide clinical services in the outpatient setting inclusive of diagnostic and crisis assessment, psychological education and intervention, individual and systematic interventions and health and behavior coaching. Participate in resident evaluation and resident recruitment. Collaborate with residents, faculty and staff on additional appropriate committees, projects and administrative duties.

Medical Screener serves at the entry points to the medical center to ensure that the Oregon Health Authority guidance for hospital entry is followed and maintained. Performs temperature check and ensures screening questions are answered regarding illness prior to entering facility. Provides instructions to visitors or staff that do not meet recommended criteria for entering facility. Documents information as appropriate and required by Public Health ensuring confidentiality. Reports to Patient Access Supervisor any concerns regarding process. Works collaboratively with Employee Health on ensuring employees are meeting screening criteria. Complies with behavioral standards, policies, procedures.

Assumes 24/7 responsibility and accountability for all patient care activities, unit operation, and staff function as well as directs and supervises all technical and management aspects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Performed majority of the time -- please start with the responsibilities that are the most time consuming: · Performs circulating scrub and duties for all specialties that may require surgical intervention.· Front desk functions: computer scheduling, answering multi-line phones in accordance with telephone courtesy standards, faxing, copying, chart assembly, statistical audits, and record keeping. · Assists team to maintain an efficient operation of the department staying within financial parameters. · May assist with monthly staff meetings and precepting of other employees. · Maintains patient logs. · Operates the computer system to order lab work, department charges, data input, and e-mail communications.· Inventory management: ordering supplies, stocking shelves, checking outdates, inventory returns to materials management. Establishes and maintains department supply/equipment routine and non-stock inventory. Communicates backorder information and coordinates substitution availability with O.R. Manager/Director. Coordinates instrument repair/replacement and loan/borrow processes. Provides services for assembling supplies and instrumentation for scheduled and add-on cases. · Patient transport includes: assists with lifting, turning, and transporting patients from stretcher to bed, bed to wheelchair, stretcher to OR table, and OR table to stretcher or bed. Will escort patients to vehicle for discharge with a responsible adult.· Linen/Biohazard Waste Management: using Standard Precautions; will handle, order, stock linen, transporting clean/dirty linen and biohazard to appropriate locations, order and manage supplies.· Housekeeping: room turnover after each procedure and terminal cleaning procedures according to department guidelines. Assists in keeping hallways clear, returns equipment to its proper place. Safely transports equipment, supplies, specimens and related materials to other departments/units as assigned. Picks up blood and blood products from Lab for O.R. or PACU. Maintains a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Reports potential safety hazards.· Anesthesia assistance: supply management, stocking and assisting the physician with induction, line placement, patient airway. Will assist with anesthesia machine turnover, maintenance of machines and related equipment including calibrations and cleaning, according to manufacturer’s recommendations and hospital policy.· Sterile Processing: will require strict adherence to Standard Precautions during decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments. Will manage inventory repair and replacement. Responsible for maintenance of instruments, equipment trays procedure books, sterilizer testing documentation, and inventory sheets. Operates, tests and monitors sterilization and emergency equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and hospital policy/procedures.· Organizes and maintains inventory of specialty supplies and equipment.
